Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026 (terms_v1)

1. What StateBrag is

StateBrag is an entertainment platform where people vote for U.S. states and watch live rankings. StateBrag also operates a separate, clearly labeled self-service advertising marketplace ("State Crown Sponsorships"). StateBrag is an independent entertainment platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the United States government or any state or local government.

2. Voting

  • Voting is free and requires no purchase. Votes cannot be bought, sold, or transferred.
  • One main vote per person per rolling 24-hour period; battles have their own separate 24-hour limit.
  • You may not use bots, scripts, device farms, or other automation. We may invalidate votes we reasonably believe are manipulated and adjust totals accordingly.
  • Rankings are for entertainment. Users do not own rankings, and rankings confer no monetary value, prize, or reward.

3. Accounts

Neither voting nor sponsoring requires an account — sponsors may act as guests identified by a contact email. Optional accounts add followed states, notification preferences, and a persistent sponsor dashboard across devices. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what limited records are retained (e.g., payment records required for accounting).

4. Sponsorships

Sponsorships are governed by the Sponsorship Terms and Sponsorship Policy. In short: sponsorships are paid advertising placements with a guaranteed minimum active period and a 30-day maximum; they never affect voting or rankings; and they provide no prize or financial return. Advertiser content is user-generated commercial content and does not represent StateBrag's views; acceptance of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

5. Acceptable use

  • No abuse, harassment, or attempts to interfere with the service or other users.
  • No scraping at disruptive volume, probing, or circumvention of rate limits and security controls.
  • No misrepresentation of affiliation with StateBrag or any government entity.

6. Intellectual property

StateBrag branding, design, and software are owned by StateBrag. Advertisers represent that they own or are licensed to use all content they submit. To report infringing sponsor content, use the IP report form.

7. Suspension and enforcement

We may suspend accounts, remove content, invalidate votes, or end sponsorships that violate these terms or applicable law, subject to the refund rules in the Sponsorship Terms and applicable consumer-protection law.

8. Age

StateBrag is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Sponsorship purchases require you to be at least 18 years old.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StateBrag's liability is limited to the amount you paid to StateBrag in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms waives rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. [Limitation, governing-law, and dispute-resolution provisions require attorney review before production launch.]

10. Changes

Material changes to these terms are versioned. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance for free features; new sponsorship purchases may require fresh acceptance of the then-current Sponsorship Terms.
