Sponsorship Content Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026 (sponsorship_policy_v1)

Every sponsor creative is reviewed before it can appear on StateBrag. By submitting a creative you affirm it complies with this policy. Acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute endorsement by StateBrag.

Prohibited advertising (v1)

StateBrag does not accept advertisements involving:

  • political campaigns, candidates, or political fundraising
  • gambling, sports betting, or lotteries
  • adult sexual services or content
  • tobacco, nicotine, or vaping products
  • cannabis, recreational, or illegal drugs
  • firearms or weapons
  • extremist organizations or hate content
  • counterfeit products
  • scams or deceptive financial products
  • payday loans or unlicensed financial speculation
  • pump-and-dump crypto schemes
  • misleading medical claims
  • illegal services
  • harassment or discrimination
  • impersonation, including government impersonation
  • political parties, PACs, election or ballot-initiative advocacy of any kind
  • sweepstakes services, penny auctions, or paid prediction markets
  • pyramid schemes or multi-level recruiting offers
  • phishing, malicious downloads, or malware distribution
  • prescription drug sales (absent specific legal review)

Government impersonation

Creatives may not imitate government agencies, use official seals without authorization, claim government approval, impersonate officials or agencies (police, fire, IRS, USCIS, FBI, state departments), mislead users about public benefits, or appear to be an official state website. StateBrag itself is not affiliated with any government entity, and sponsors may not imply otherwise.

No implied state endorsement

A sponsorship means an advertiser purchased placement — nothing else. Creatives may not claim to be the "Official Business" of a state, imply that a state government or its residents endorsed or voted for the business, or claim to be local to a state without basis. The correct description is, for example, "Texas State Crown Sponsor on StateBrag." Advertisers do not need to be located in the state they sponsor.

Content and link standards

  • Destination URLs must be HTTPS, public, and match the advertised business.
  • No redirect chains controlled by the advertiser, no executable downloads.
  • No harassment, doxxing, personal attacks, revenge content, or targeted abuse.
  • Logos and names must be yours or licensed to you; famous-brand impersonation is rejected.
  • Individual (non-business) sponsors are subject to additional review and may be disabled platform-wide.

Enforcement

Violations may result in rejection, suspension, or removal — including loss of remaining placement time without refund, subject to applicable law and the Sponsorship Terms. Malicious links are removed immediately. Users can report any ad via the "Report Ad" link on every sponsor card; IP owners can use the IP report form.
